Wing Rib Prep (Part 2); Torqued AEX Tiedowns to Spar
Today I went and bought this new torque wrench from Sears. Why? Well, I already have two torque wrenches but one is in foot-pounds and the other is in inch-pounds. My inch-pounds wrench will torque a mininum of 200 inch-pounds....uh...this won't do.
This new one will torque from 20 to 250 ft-pounds so I think I now have all my bases covered.
So first order of business was to toque on these tiedown bars. And well, guess what? You know, Van's is really cool because they give you EXACTLY what you need to build this plane and nothing more. Well, I discovered that I'm missing one of the bolts (probably got swept out with the trash) for the AEX tiedown so I'll have to wait until I need to order something else from Van's to order another one. While I'm at it, I'm going to order a lot of extra AN bolts in case I lose another one.
After tearing the garage apart looking for the missing bolt, I finished fluting / staightening flanges of the leading edge/tank ribs.
