Finished Riveting Bottom Skins on Right Wing
Today Jaime came out to the garage and helped me finish the riveting on the bottom skins on the right wing. It's a bit tricky being able to reach every rivet, but suffice it to say just follow the manual here...it works.
We had a couple of 'bumps' on the bottom skin, but it's no big deal...I mean...it's the bottom of the wing and that's what Super-Fill is for!
Hey...it was 3 hours of work...I think it deserves a couple of pictures...
Oh yeah, while bucking the rivets on the inside of the skin, I sat the bucking bar down on the spar and it fell through the lightening hole into the leading edge. It put a little place here on the leading edge (center frame in the picture above). It's no big deal...but I thought I would put a note here as a caution to builders in the future who may be more anal than I am about little bumps on the aluminum.
For all practical purposes, this wing is done! I still need to mount the nutplates for the third access plate (at the bellcrank...which also needs to be installed). I also need to finish and mount the ailerons and flaps. One step at a time!
