Returned from SnF; Primed/Started Riveting Firewall
This morning we woke up and flew back home. We came back as a 6 ship and folks left the formation as we approached their jump off point. Anyway...we departed Sarasota (we stayed in Sarasota both nights) and flew up the west coast over Tampa and back inland. This very bad picture doesn't do this flight justice. It wasn't *this* hazy today..but this picture was taken through the prop so I think what you're seeing here is a result of a slow shutter speed allowing the prop to slice through the photo.
At any rate, this flight was absolutely gorgeous.
Once I got home I started cranking again on the firewall (needless to say, I got fired up at Sun-n-Fun). First thing was to finally break out the primer and prime all the angles. Then I started back-riveting them on there. Just be careful doing this -- make absolutely sure that your backing plate it straight. If not...you'll be like me and end up driling out more than a few rivets...trust me on this.
Wake up in Florida, have lunch with my wife -- I can't wait get this plane done (I have forever to go...but I'm super-motivated)...my goal is to have the fuselage to QB stage in 6 months. Let's see if I make the goal.
