Almost Finished Riveting Forward Fuse
Today Burton came over and we finished riveting the forward fuselage. This included riveting the lowerskin and center center to the 704 bulkhead, riveting the lower longerons to the bottom skin and side skins and various other little things.
The top row of rivets here is where the lower longeron rivets tot he bottom skin.
Here on the bottom skin/side skin/lower longeron/gear leg web joint (yes..lot's of parts riveted together here) you can see where the skin bulges out a little. This isn't a big deal, since the gear leg weldment is going to get bolted to this area, which is obviously pull it together.
And here's a view of the side looking forward...for posterity's sake. Boy..this thing is really coming along. It's only a matter of time...I've still got forever on this thing...but at least I can see the end of the tunnel as far as the metal work is concerned.
