Flipped The Fuselage!
Today was a HUUUUGE day on the project. When I got home, I taped up a bunch of rivets for Burton to shoot and when he arrived we started banging rivets. We only stopped for a short dinner and afterward we kept going. There are still a couple of rivets in hard to reach places that I need to think about...but I think they'll be easier with the fuse upright...so....
Yeeeha! I got Jaime to come out and she, Burton and I flipped the fuselage over. Burton and I grabbed the front and she grabbed the rear. It went over pretty easily. Boy...this thing is quite weighty. I also did the inaugural sitting in the fuselage. There were no cushions in there so I was sitting quite a bit lower than I will be when this thing is finished...but boy....it was fun!
Here's a shot from the front.
And another shot for posterity. Next step is to create a small, reinforced sawhorse that will pick this thing up to about a foot off the ground...which will allow me to reach over in there easily.
Thanks again, Burton.
