Position Light Wiring
Ok, I really struggled iwth how to do this. The position lights in the airplane are one of the few connections I have yet to make behind subpanel. The problem is that there are a lot of things that need to be connected in the same circuit as the position lights. The DRE intercom for example needs to connect. When the DRE line gets 12 volts, it dim the lights on the unit. The RAC LED trim indicators do the same thing. I also wanted to put my map light and Nu-lites for the analog ASI and altimeter on there (no need for a separate switch). So, this is what I did. I stole this idea from Checkoway and I also used it for distributing my 5v exitation circuit for the engine probes. I think this will work fine. I will probably not use all of the connectors, but its nice to have extra positions available if I ever need to light something up in the future. This area will be easily accessible by access panels I'm planning on putting in the front deck skin.
Ok, sort of a silly picture, but the lights on the intercom now dim as advertised when I switch the position lights on.
