Yep, time for an update I suppose.
I now have 330 hours on the airplane and I am loving every minute of it. I have had no real maintenance issues to speak of (other than typical RV stuff) and all is good.
I have decide to embark upon getting my instrument rating. I have no intentions of launching into absolute crazy weather, but I mostly want to deal with weather like the above picture. That's pretty typical for the Atlanta area in the summer. All of the muck sits down on the ground and it's rather scary (in terms of spotting other aircraft) when you descend down into it. I have also had a couple of trips where I was sitting around for hours at a non-towered airport waiting for a 900ft broken layer to move out. With the instrument rating that sort of scenario would be no big deal.
I have ordered the Sporty's IFR course. I'm looking forward to this and I think it will be fun because I always enjoy learning something new. I'll try to post updates as much as possible.
