More Left Tank Z-bracket Prep; Drilled Inboard Z-Brackets
Today I went out after work and drilled the left tank z-brackets and then started working on the inboard brackets. I can't find any callouts in the plans for what size screw connects the inboard brackets, but I'm guessing it's the same as all the others based on the size of the pre-punched holes for the platenuts in the spar web.
And here's drilling out the bottom of the z-brackes using the pre-punched holes in the spar web. This is extremely tight here.
Then I went in and watched the Discovery Channel X-prize show on SpaceShipOne. What an inspiration for this project!
Tomorrow (weather permitting), I'm having my first tailwheel training session...should be interesting. If you read this site often, you're probably wondering why I'm getting tailwheel training if i'm building a nosedragger. Well, I just want to get my tailwheel endorsement so that I can make a more informed decision on my landing gear configuration, since you have to make the decision when ordering the fuselage kit. My fuselage order will go out in the next several weeks.
Bottom Line? I'm building this plane for the long haul and I don't want to develop tailwheel envy after flying for a couple of years.
