Primed and Clecoed Leading Edges For Riveting
Today I prepped and primed the leading edge components for both wings. This is my priming setup: a little frame with black plastic 'fenching' suspended between two chairs. It's winter here and this picture was taken at about 6:00 pm. I hate the short winter days. I don't see how folks that live up north can stand it...since their days are even shorter than ours!
Here is one of the leading edge skins after being primed.
The black electrical tape ended up being a complete waste of time. I won't do it again.
Don't know why I took this picture....but whatever.....you can never have too many photos.
I clecoed together both leading edges. These things are basically ready to rivet. I need to call in some favors with my helpers and get these things riveted together and onto the spars.
This is one of the psychological obstacles to overcome when building one of these airplanes. This picture looks eerily similar to this one that I took TWO MONTHS AGO!! That's ok, though. Things are about to start going together very, very fast!
