Scuffed Bottom Skins For Priming; Final Prep Before Closing Wings
Today I went out and and started by scuffing up the inside of the bottom wing skins. The scuffing (if I haven't covered this before), is to give the primer something to grip to.
Since I'm getting ready to rivet the bottom skins, I went ahead and cleaned the inside of the wing. I also vacuumed out the leading edges, where the outboard lightening holes in the main spar allow crap to fall down in there.
I contemplated installing the aileron bellcranks, but I decided that they may may get in the way when riveting on the skins, so I'm going to follow the plans and put them in after the skins are riveted on.
Next I riveted the requisite nutplates to the pitot mount. Tomorrow I'm going to try to prime the parts but we'll see if I actually have time to do that.
