Installed Right Aileron Bellcrank
Today I re-set some of the rivets in aileron to bellcrank pushrods...but I'm still not sure about them...maybe I'm obsessing too much.
Anyway...I spent quite a while getting the right bellcrank ready to install. There's basically a bushing that goes through the 'tube' you see here that's built into the bellcrank. The bushing is just slightly longer than the bellcrank tube (1/61 to 1/32 longer) and it get wedged between the two brackets that attache the bellcrank to the spar web. The bellcrank rotates around the bushing, not around the bolt.
Anyway...one hint here: The plans have you install the bellcrank attach brackets early in the process...but the problem is that you really want the bolt head at the top of the wing and the nut and toward the bottom. This is so you can open the access panel and check your torque-seal or whatever to see if the nut has slipped on the bolt. Anyway...to get the long bolt in there, you sort of need to install the whole thing as one assemply, which is what I did. This makes it easier anyway since you have to grease this thing up, etc..much easier to do this on the bench than in the wing.
