Started Priming/Riveting Bulkheads
Today I went out and started riveting the bulkheads and associated parts. As you can tell from the above picture, I've decided going forward on the fuselage that I'm only going to prime non-alcad parts and mating surfaces. I just don't see the point in removing perfectly good alcad anymore. I see this is a necessity for me to get this project done.
Here's the aft-most bulkhead. Yes, I did just contradict my previous statement and primed this thing completely. The reason is because it's all the way in the back and under the horzizontal and vertical stabs, which I think may be prone to trapping some moisture. Oh well...for whatever that's worth. This thing will eventually get the AEX tiedown bar. The taildraggers get the tailwheel tube going through the little arched cutout at the bottom (to the right in this picture).
And here's the next bulkhead going forward. The horizontal rear spar of the h-stab gets attached to these vertical bars.
Next I riveted the doublers to the seat back support structure (sorry, I never remember the part numbers). Note the many rivets left out, mostl of them because I'm building a tip-up canopy.
And here's the other side.
And everything gets riveted to the rear-spar carry through. I primed the channel just where the carry through goes.
...and here's a little closer view of this piece.
