More Longeron Bending
Ron Brown, an RV-9A builder, had asked me if he could help me bend my longerons. He's into his wings now and wanted to know what he has to look forward to. Anyway, he came over today and we banged and pulled and twisted and unbended and banged and yanked and eventually we had something that looked like it was supposed to.
After applying the twist, I did notice that the gradual bend on the left longeron got a little out of whack so I need to bend that back out tomorrow.
...and here we go...I'm pretty much ready to join these two beasts together. The next few weeks you'll see quite a bit of visual progress on the project....I'll cleco essentially the entire fuselage (except top skins) together, drill it out...and take the whole thing apart again to the very state you see above. Such is the cruel but rewarding nature of airplane construction.
