Drilled Left Tank Attach Angle
On RVs, the wing attaches at three points...the main spar...the rear spear and the tank. In the drawing above, just under the ruler, you can see how a bracket gets bolted to the side of the fuselage and the tank gets bolted to the bracket. First step in preparing this attachment is to make these spacers....two are .032 and two and .063.
Uuuhhh...here are the brackets...nice and rusting. I guess I should of oiled these or something...but I didn't. You don't drill these yet...you wait until you mount the wings to do it...but I'm going to go ahead and sand and prime these things (probably this week) while i'm priming the rest of the fuselage stuff.
Here you can see an angle that's between the lower and aux longerons. Believe it or not, it took me three times to get this one right. I guess the heat's getting to me or something....not really.
Actually, what happened was the drawing doesn't show the full-length measurement...and I interpreted another measurement as full length so I cut the first two too short. The second time I cut the tapers (that butt into the longerons) the wrong direction. So anyway...I was a bit annoyed at this. Hopefully I won't run out of angle.
The later row of holes here is where the bracket attaches on the outside.
Jaime's leaving for San Diego tomorrow morning so tonight we went on a little outing.
