Set Incidence With Smart Tool
Today at work I called Mike "Kahuna" Stewart if I could borrow his Smart Tool and he obliged. This thing is awesome. I set out to level the fuselage. Here I leveled it laterally.
Then forward and aft.
Right side is level as well..
And at the aft fuse...yes...there's 0 twist in the fuselage.
This and the remaining pictures are for the 'Jig Nazis' as I call 'em. If you're not a builder you probably don't know what this means. Well, the RV wings on the new kits come completely pre-punched except for a couple of small pieces and one rib (if I remember correctly). A lot of people insist that if you don't jig your wings, you're going to build all sorts of twist in them. When I built my wings I built a jig...but it was really just a wing stand because I did't secure to aft spar in place...I just let it hang there and let the skins do their thing. Anyway...as you can see I have no twist in the left wing..
see what I mean?
Zero! The same deal for both wings. Everything is straight...but I've still got some sweep in the wings. I need to get it to zero and I'll be good!
