More Canopy Frame Fun
This morning we had the EAA 690 pancake breakfast. I would have just skipped it since I've been very busy lately and need all the time I can muster to work on the project, but we have more RV builders in our chapter than you can shake a stick at, so it's always good to go out there and chat RV's and ask questions. For example, at the breakfast there were two RV-9A builders, two RV-7 builders, an RV-7A builder (me), an RV-8A builder, an RV-8 and RV-6 flyer (yes, he owns TWO purchased RV's), and probably several other RVers that I wasn't aware of or didn't see. It was also a very crummy day with low overcast and rain and we'll usually have at least one RV fly-in, but not today obviously.
Anyway, when I did get home I continued with the canopy frame stuff. I started by drilling the upper attach strip, much like I did the lower one.
Then I continued drilling the pilot holes for the canopy frame. Holy cow..there are a LOT of rivets in this thing!
Anyway, I spent quite a while doing this and then we had to go to a Christmas party, so hopefully tomorrow I can finish up the prep work on this part.
