Finished Fitting Panel
Today I spent a while installing these brackets on the forward canopy decks that the instrument panel screws into. The other side obviously looks the same. I did spend quite a while trying to figure out what I'm going to do with the air vents. The standard airvents are cheap as crap and just need to be thrown away. Almost nobody uses them. There are a couple of other alternatives. There are vents that directly replace the Van's-supplied ones, or you can get much smaller ones. The smaller ones give you more options, in my opinion because you can just build a little corner subpanel that they attach to. If you buy the direct replacements, you have to trim away a corner of the EXPENSIVE vent flange...I don't think so. I think I'll just go with the smaller ones even though they are SOOOOOO overpriced it's not even funny.
Oh, this basically finishes up the subpanel and stuff...of course I need to pull this stuff apart and prime and rivet it, but this stuff will not get riveted into place until the fuselage is painted (some of this will get painted too since it shows when the canopy is open).
Hmm...all I'm waiting on is a part from Van's (to finish the cabin frame) and I need to paint the fuselage interior and I'll be able to say I'm done with the fuselage kit!
