Drill Fuselage Side Skin for Latch Handle
Today I started by taping off the side of the fuselage really well, taping on the drill guide and match-drilling it to the side of the fuselage.
Here you can see the view from the inside.
The latch handles need to extend through the side of the fuselage so these slots must be cut out. It isn't obvious from the picture, but what I did was to chuck a round needle file into my pneumatic drill. It really cut through the skin pretty well...not too fast...not too slow.
And here are the side slits after being finished off with a Scotch-Brite pad.
