More Canopy Frame Fitting
I've been working on the canopy frame for the last few days but I haven't been updating because there really isn't anything descriptive that I could put on the site. I've been tweaking here, moving there, bending here, filing, etc. Anyway, I finally got the canopy frame so everything lines up nicely with the forward top skin. I did this by shimming in strategic places. I didn't think I would be able to get shims under the forward top skin because it fits so tight, but I was able to put a .032 strip under there to be it up level with the canopy frame, no problem.
Anyway, here youc an see the canopy support seal and a .032 spacer I put on the frame. I was very surprised at how much I had to file away the seal support. Hopefully this will not cause any problems sealing up the canopy.
Continueing with the canopy frame, I did some more fluting on these aft canopy channels and clamped, then taped them into place.
I also put the instrument panel into place while doing all the fitting to ensure that there will be no interference problem.
