Canopy Frame Skin Riveting; Received Radio Stack
Today is Good Friday. I work for a Puerto Rican company which is pretty good at observing all of the Catholic Holidays so I had today off.
Anyway...I set out to continue riveting some more on the canopy frame. I prepped (deburred...dimpled...countersunk) all the canpoy frame parts, primed a few of them and started slapping them together. Here you can see the left side skirt going on.
And here's the main canaopy skin. The last time I had the canopy on the frame, I marked the location of the plexi. Today I taped that off, then scrubbed down the 'glareshield' area of the skin. This will get painted some sort of black pretty soon. Not sure when. Tomorrow is completely full for me and so is Sunday. Oh well. We'll see.
I love it since they opened Aircraft Spruce down South of the City. Whatever I order before 3:00 PM arrives at my house the next day at about noon. Pretty good service!
Anyway, this stack is interesting because all I need to do to make it IFR legal is add something like the Narco NAV122D or an SL-30 + CDI. I'm still not quite certain how I would make the audio work given that I don't have an audio panel. Plenty of people have done it with my setup. Whatever, let's just get this thing in the air.
