Second Coat on Panel; Putting Stuff In
A pretty big day on the project today. This morning I set my alarm (rare for me for a Saturday) and got up early. I wanted to repaint my panel and my thought process was that in the morning with the wet ground (dew) that there would be less dust and stuff in the air. I was right. So anyway...I wet sanded the panel and sprayed the final coat. I'm pretty happy with how it came out. Nice and glossy. Anyway...Jaime and I met with her friend for Dinner and about 10 hours or so later the panel was dry (it's really hot here) so I started putting stuff in. Here you can see the intercom (DRE-244e), GPS (GX50) and COM (SL40) fired up. I'm really cheating here, because what I did was run a feed from the battery to the main bus and e-bus. Yep...works fine. Oh yeah, you can also notice the heater box cable over the right. This is how you'll get heat. Pull this thing back, it opens the heat box and warm air pours in.
Of course I had to put my cushions in there so see how everything fit and looked. Notice my copy of the Aeroelectric Connection.
Ok, if you look back on the bulkhead (under the vent in this picture) you'll see where I decided to put my headset jacks. I think this location will work very well. The only requirement will be to keep the headset wires free of the rudder cables, but I seriously don't think this is going to be a major problem.
