OAT Probe Installed; Governor Final Installed
As I mentioned yesterday...I went to Ace Hardware this morning to purchase a foot-long drill bit so I could drill the tooling holes on the wing step area. Then I deburred all the holes and drilled the 3/8 inch hole for the OAT probe. Yes, many folks put this probe on the access cover, presumably because if you ever want to remove the probe it's just a simple matter of making a new access cover and the hole will be gone. Well, I'm not too concerned about it honestly. As far as I'm concerned, even if I ever change out the Dynon EMS, I'm still going to purchase another OAT probe. In case you're wondering where I put this, it's just outboard of the outboard-most access plate.
Back to the governor stuff...I pulled the governor off and cut off the safety wire and rotate the arm again. This time I think I nailed it. I have full movement of the arm and at the full-forward position it's hitting the stop. I didn't get any photos of it after the fact but I removed the governor and then torqued and safety-wired the screws, then re-installed the governor and cable mounting bracket, hopefully for the final time! I'm going to replace the hardware before I torque them though.
Then I enlarged the hole in the firewall pass-through 'eye-ball'. Perfect. I think I'm probably going to put some Loctite on these eyeballs when I know everything is in place for good.
